Fic: Waking, X-men FC, Charles/Erik, PG

This week our prompt word for the Drabble Cascade is eyes. If you would like to join in (everyone is welcome to) all you have to do is write a 100 word drabble or up to a 500 words flash fic of original fic, fanfic or meta inspired by the word and post it, before adding your link to the list which can be found in this week's intro post.

Title: Waking
Author: Beren
Fandom: X-men First Class
Pairing: Charles/Erik
Rating: PG
Word Count: 100

"Charles."

Erik's worried voice dragged him from darkness and his first thought was 'he came back.' What surprised him was waking up on the inside of the wrecked jet with extremely anxious blue green eyes all but glaring at him.

"What happened?" he asked.

"I killed Shaw," he saw guilt in Erik's eyes, "and then I heard you screaming."

Charles realised with relief it had been a pain induced dream, but as he sent his mind out he realised it was not completely false.

"Missiles," he said; "you have to stop them."

He would not make the same mistake twice.
