Wishlist Meme

Snagged from several people.

Step One

  • Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 (or however many you like) holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

  • If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

  • Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to the original post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two

Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

My Wishlist
  1. Review/rate my books on the book sites or your blog (links show all books sites where the publication is available).
    Face if the Dead (~10Kwds)
    Forgotten Soul (Free) (~10.5Kwds)
Chip Off the Old Block? (Free) (~7.8Kwds)
    Three Bullets (~8.5Kwds)
    Sacrifice of An Angel (~127kwds)
    Cat's Call (~79Kwds)
    (Thank you mieka_writes and lirren)

  2. Tag my books on Amazon. It's really easy, all you have to do is go to the book page while you are logged in to your Amazon account and there is a tag section just above the reviews. There is a neat little link that allows you to agree with all existing tags. I've set up the books with the correct tags already, but upping the number of people who tag the book makes it more visible in searches and the like.
Face if the Dead (UK) | Face if the Dead (US)
Forgotten Soul (UK) | Forgotten Soul (US)
Sacrifice of An Angel (UK) | Sacrifice of An Angel (US)
    Cat's Call (UK) | Cat's Call (US)
    (Thank you mieka_writes and lirren)

  3. Rec me some really good X-men First Class fic and tell me why it's wonderful.

  4. X-men First Class Cherik icons :). I need an angsty one specifically, because I only have three and they're all quite happy ones :).

  5. Hug someone and make them feel good about themselves and spread the joy of the season.

If you have a wishlist, please comment and LMK, because I know I have seen some go past and like an idiot not noted where. Thank you.
