Ebook readers

Dear all knowing flist, I have some questions that I hope you will be able to help me with.

Now I have a Bebook and when I want to put a book onto it I just plug it in to my PC using a micro-usb cable and transfer the files. How does one do this on other eBook readers?

Can you just plug in a Kindle and what kind of cable does it require?
How about a Nook, Cybook, Kobo, PocketBook, Sony Reader etc?

Thank you for any help in answering these questions.
