Fanfic writing

I've just been through my fanfic folders and I realise I have 6,722 files in the main directory and its subdirectories.

I never delete anything. Some of those files have two lines of idea in them, others are versions of the same fic. Like my merlin/hp fic is on version 9 because when I move between machines I reversion it to make sure I don't accidentally write over something. One of my directories is called "Misc dup" where I have put all the miscellaneous duplicate files from when I merged two machines together when I bought Georg (my first external HD). Just in case one of them is actually a different version not a duplicate I have kept the files.

Does anyone else do this or am I the only nutter? ;)

P.S. Thanks to everyone who expressed good wishes for Bijou yesterday. Our little black kittie is now on anti-arthritis medication - they're not sure that is what it is, but it does fit as one possible explanation and so we'll be taking her back in two weeks and see if there is any change. They don't think it's nerve damage because she seems to be able to feel everything.

The medication is a squirt down the throat after food job and I'm glad it's not Levi or he would have figured out the pattern by tomorrow morning, but Bij will only remember that if she lets me pick her up in a towel she gets chicken afterwards - LOL. Not the sharpest crayon in the box is our little darling.
