Question about fic offerings in help_haiti

I've never been part of a charity auction like help_haiti before so I'm not sure what the form is :).

Does one give the fic to the wining bidder exclusively, i.e. via doc or text file?
or
Does one post it with dedications in the headers and send it to the winning bidder in doc or txt format?
or
Does one ask the winning bidder what they would prefer?
