Merlin had loved Christmas for more years than he cared to count. It filled him with peace. It was also the time of year he always found Arthur again. Between times he would stay the same age as when he lost Arthur the last time, and then, one day, he would wake up young again and he would know it was time.

It was snowing when he saw the familiar blond head this time. Christmas lights were tingeing Arthur's hair all colours of the rainbow and he was singing carols, badly. Merlin smiled and waited for Arthur to see him.
