Do you ever get the feeling that some people just plain miss the point?

I've been reading through some of my reviews on a couple of archives and I have come to the stunning conclusion that for some people the whole point of the fic goes sailing on by and misses them entirely, yet they often give glowing reviews with a 'but' at the end. It baffles me how it is possible to read something, think you have enjoyed it, but obviously have no clue what it's really about. For example: one dear soul left me a lovely review about how much they liked Coming Together, but what was the whole thing about calling Harry James; I really didn't know how to reply.

Anyone else had similar happenings?
