Merlin - little help

Now that could have been a disaster...

This is why shopping locally is the best ever.

We always order our turkey from Barkaways butchers (http://www.ajbarkaway.co.uk/) in Faversham because it's always amazing. Now we always go to pick it up, but I got confused and thought we were picking it up tomorrow (24th) and they're closed tomorrow. They went and delivered it today because the turkey is so important for Christmas and so they brought it round for us because it would be awful if we didn't have it.

They are utterly wonderful. It could have been a total disaster, but they are local and brilliant and we have a turkey. If there was any other reason for going with local family firms I don't know what it could be.

Jane was almost as remarkable as Tony, which was why Loki found himself working with her within days. They had set up an experiment combining her science and his magic, but something was not right.

He acted without thinking, grabbing Jane before she could step closer. He pulled her in front of him, turned away from the experiment and shielded her with as much magic as he could muster just as energy ripped from the machine.

Something hit him in the back and he screamed as his mind filled with searing agony. His form shifted and then there was blackness.

Alarms were going off everywhere and Tony charged into the lab as soon as JARVIS would let him. The first things he saw were the large holes in several bits of furniture and one wall, and the second was a figure on the floor.

Loki's shirt was blackened and torn and Tony could see blue, charred flesh showing through.

"Loki, Jane," he called.

"Here," came Jane's voice and he realised she was completely covered by Loki.

It didn't take a genius to realise what had happened.

"Are you hurt?" he asked Jane, even as he surveyed the damage to Loki.

Avengers - Loki sweet and innocent

Some people are just not nice, but...

... some toe-rag snapped off Rob's wing mirror from the car yesterday when he was delivering a present to a friend. It took some real doing and there were no other marks or scuffs on the car and the mirror part was not broken, just snapped off, so it looks like it was completely deliberate not an accident. I'm guessing anger management issues, or attempted thievery but I suppose it could have been pure spite, who knows. Maybe Rob inadvertently took someone's usual parking space *shrug*.

I honestly hope whoever did it manages to find their holiday spirit, wherever it may be buried, because I think one of the best things about Christmas and this holiday season is how so many people are good to each other. Giving is it's own reward, in all forms, well, it makes me happy, anyway.

That said, Rob, with the use of his 3D printer has fixed the wing mirror, so all is well. He had to make a special tool so he could put a huge spring back in place and then he found instructions on the internet to put the rest of it back together. There is a little bit of plastic broken off the inside, but the rest is intact, so no need for a whole new one. My husband is a bit of a genius *she says proudly*. :)

Happy day before Christmas Eve to everyone. *hugs*
