... just occasionally I would like to strangle my husband.

Every other morning I use our weights machine in the study and I like to listen to music while doing so because it removes the boredom. The other morning I go in, turn on the amp and the CD and nothing comes out. I fiddle with the amp for a while and the CD player and the CD player is definitely playing and the amp is definiely on, but still no sound.

D'y'know what - it never occured to me to check that the speakers were still attached - Rob had only taken them to work to use them for some testing! He could have mentioned it before I spent five mins on my knees trying to get sound to come out of a system that was at that time incapable of giving it.
