and now, well now things were just weird.
Made me laugh. That's certainly one way of putting it.
And I *love* Snape's plan for dealing w/Draco. So "romantic" it sounds like a zillion other fanfics...

I can't wait to read the next part, where (I presume) Harry's friends find out, but alas, I have other commitments. I'm sure this'll be on my mind until I can get back, however.

Made me laugh. That's certainly one way of putting it.
One day someone's gonna mention the l-word and they're both going to run for the hills ::g::

I can't wait to read the next part, where (I presume) Harry's friends find out
You presume correctly :) ... glad you're enjoying it. This one turned out a little longer than the previous one, it sort of mushroomed on me ::g::.
elfflame[info]elfflame on 2nd August 2004 06:50 (UTC)
Just lovely. Such an intriguing story. And I adore the fact that everyone is so in-character. Despite what's happened to Harry. I can't wait to see Ron & Hermione's reactions. And I'm hoping there will be more Harry/Draco later...
I'm so glad you continued this series. Each one is better than the last. Just wish I could stay home today and finish it. At least that means there's something to look forward to when I get home tonight. ;)
Beren: weird[info]beren_writes on 2nd August 2004 07:06 (UTC)
Thank you very much, I'm so pleased you don't find any of them OOC.

Oh yeah, definitely more H/D ::g::.

Thank you again.

*Squeals* You made a sequel!!

"...The story will undoubtedly leak to the press and will have witches wailing in the aisles about the romance of the whole thing."

That made me laugh, I believe that Snape does have a sense of humour that he wasn't letting on.

Good job on keeping the people in character, especially Harry. The way he often doubt himself and his control is very believable.

All in all, great story!
Beren: sneakiness[info]beren_writes on 2nd August 2004 07:10 (UTC)
Thank you.

I'm sure Snape has a sense of humour somewhere - buried very deep, with a very black edge to it, but defintely there. ;)

The way he often doubt himself and his control is very believable.
Thank you, that means a lot to me.

*gasp*
"What do you want from me?" Draco did not seem to be able to comprehend what was going on.
Harry stepped up to the Slytherin again and ran his fingers lightly over the new mark.
"A friend," he said quietly.

what a perfect, beautiful moment. Wow. There are just so many layers of 'Harry' now for him to sort through, and you've handled it so well.

Dumbledore using the celery for a fork was...well I laughed for a good five minutes. I think you know him better then he does! ;) That whole scene with the goblet and Harry's battle with control just sizzled with energy. Loved it.

I really liked the end of this chapter too. We see that Harry's control is still shaky when he tries to come to grips with letting his friends know what happened to him. He cares for them so much, but you still show us all the shame he's still fighting.

wow. Love it! *runs off to part 2*

Thank you *hugs*

Dumbledore using the celery for a fork was...well I laughed for a good five minutes.
It was one of those mental images that would not go away ;). So pleased you enjoyed it.

That whole scene with the goblet and Harry's battle with control just sizzled with energy.
I like to give Harry little tests every now and then, it's so much fun ;).

He cares for them so much, but you still show us all the shame he's still fighting.
Thank you *blushes*. He's such a contradiction now that the conflict it very interesting to play with.

*hugs* thank you for the lovely review.

YAY!!!!!
Going about my business as usual, when I decided to check just e-mail. For some unexplained reason I check Beren's journal and then... a choir of angels started to sing when I saw your post.
This is just great, I just finished this first part of Corruption 3 and I am happy. Your quality of writing is unique and picture like, your plot is unbelievable and the characters up to par.
Loved the way Draco deals with Harry, he knows Harry is powerful but, Malfoy being Malfoy still has his personality and a way to do as he pleases without being intimidated by Harry.
Too much rambling better go.

*runs to read next chapter*

PS: My new expression to use :
That confused the magic out of Harry

Re: YAY!!!!!
Thank you *blushes* so pleased you're enjoying it. It's quite adictive to write ::g:: ... not so good for concentrating on other things though ;).

I'm so glad you like Draco, I'm having fun with his natural need for control pitted against the fact that what Harry wants he can really just take if he feels like it. Give Draco a few more days and he'll have the werewolf sitting up and begging and the incubus willing to bottom at the drop of a hat ::g::.

Snape is an absolute genius. Well, you as Snape, I guess. *eg* His plan was so spur of the moment, yet workable. Dear gods, I hope they buy it.

I'm so enjoying Dumbledore. He's such a bizarre old man and you really bring it out. The fork thing slayed me, as well.

This just gets better and better. The part Julie pointed out with H and D was fabulous. Poor Harry, he's so confused. Don't you just want to hug him? *rushes for chapter 2*
Beren: hermione sane?[info]beren_writes on 2nd August 2004 13:48 (UTC)
Thank you, so pleased you enjoyed it.

Snape is an absolute genius.
I think he would have to be or he'd be dead by now. He's bitter and does as stupid things as any Gryffindor when he's angry, but I firmly believe he is very clever: probably one of the reasons he is so bitter.

I'm so enjoying Dumbledore.
I love Dumbledore; he so eccentric and he's great to play with. As Soph says - if you can say it in two words, Dumbledore will use ten ::g::.

Don't you just want to hug him?
And pet him, and call him george. Oops, wrong fic ::g::

Thank you again.
Dr Midgery Marjory[info]chuffing on 2nd August 2004 13:53 (UTC)
As Soph says - if you can say it in two words, Dumbledore will use ten

I seem to have the same problem. Hence my inability to drabble and my ten page reviews.

And pet him, and call him george. Oops, wrong fic

Well, that my first spluttering of liquid for the day. Good work! *g*
Beren: weird[info]beren_writes on 2nd August 2004 13:58 (UTC)
Ooh, that reminds me, I wrote my first ever drabble yesterday - I'm not very good at this word limit thing, but I shall have to put it up later ::g::.

Well, that my first spluttering of liquid for the day. Good work! *g*
I do my best ::eg::.
Dr Midgery Marjory[info]chuffing on 2nd August 2004 14:04 (UTC)
Oh, I can't wait to see it. Is it H/D? I cannot do it. I try at least five times a week and end up with a ficlet. I just can't seem to convey my point in under five-hundred words. I'm wordy. *g*
Beren: weird[info]beren_writes on 2nd August 2004 14:06 (UTC)
Yeah, me too ::g:: ... this one rather surprised me. It's supposed to be funny, but I can't tell *shrug*.

Randy: Pride 1[info]drgaellon on 16th July 2006 13:43 (UTC)
There is a formal thing called a "short-short" story, under 100 words. Isaac Asimov once said writing short-shorts was the hardest thing he'd ever done.
thrnbrooke[info]thrnbrooke on 2nd August 2004 17:28 (UTC)
That was unbelievable!!! Utterly fantastic! Harry altered the Dark Mark! He's got so far to go doesn't he? *sigh*
Beren: weird[info]beren_writes on 2nd August 2004 23:57 (UTC)
Thank you, so glad you enjoyed it.
Yep ... long way.
thrnbrooke[info]thrnbrooke on 4th August 2004 02:00 (UTC)
I did I did!

Harry will make it! He's got Draco beside him and lots of people behind him. Most of Gryffindor were donating blood and didn't really know why. They just knew that Harry needed it.

Comments for Chapter One:

Now he found that the creatures' fate to scream their pain was much more important to him and he ran a finger over the moving picture, wondering at how little the Wizarding world really understood about magical creatures.
I love these new introspective thoughts about banshees and the Wizarding world. It shows a way that Harry's perspective on the world has changed. I like it.

'Mine': the word continued to repeat in Harry's mind like a mantra, consuming every other thought in its wake, demanding the universe acknowledge that it was true. He was so lost in the rhythm of the mental sound and the sweet taste of his lover's mouth the he did not feel the power building in him until is spilled out of his body.
This part was amazing and so original. I loved how this seemed to change everything in their relationship and that they didn't even understand what was going on. I thought that it was a very interesting way to manage changing Draco's Dark Mark.

I love Snape's plan and his quiet reactions to Harry and Draco's relationship.

I'm glad we have a list of what exactly Harry is now. I think the shadow fae and ethologi are really interesting, rare dark creature choices. I like his reaction to reading about ethologi. It seems like a very appropriate reaction for Harry to have.

...but Headmaster Dumbledore is telling Dobby that if Harry Potter is not asking for food by the time the rest of the school is having dinner...</b>
Small spelling error, I think. "Dinner" not "diner".

Normal food just couldn't compare anymore; this was more than sustenance, it was life; and yet, when he finally placed the goblet back on the table, every drop gone, there was a fraction of a second when it felt as if something was missing.
I'm loving this sentence. Gee, I wonder what could be missing. ;) I liked that drinking the blood gave him a better appetite for human food.

I'm really glad that you added Neville under the banner of "Harry's friends". He's forgotten a lot of times and, personally, I think he's going to become more and more important in the last two books.

The wall which stopped his progress was, I believe his exact words were 'bloody hard', and he sustained some nasty bruising and several broken bones.
I like the wording here. It's funny to clearly hear Ron's words through Dumbledore's mouth.

A lovely chapter! More comments to come!

Beren: sneakiness[info]beren_writes on 3rd August 2004 03:52 (UTC)
I love these new introspective thoughts
Thank you. I figured that his whole outlook on life will have changed and that things will be occuring to him that never have before.

This part was amazing and so original.
Thank you again, you're making me blush now. I didn't know exactly what was going to happen in the beginning of the fic for so long and then the changing of the mark came to me. As for Snape's plan, that just appeared on the page all by itself leaving my brain to catch up later ;).

The list:
Well you have a list of all the main ones, but there are others that are not important.

Thanks for the typo catch.

I liked that drinking the blood gave him a better appetite for human food.
Thank you, I was coming from the angle that feeding the monster inside would allow his human side to surface without rival and hence let his normal apetite come through.

As for Nev; I'm beginning to like him more and more. I think he's going to become more important as well.

It's funny to clearly hear Ron's words through Dumbledore's mouth.
I had this mental image of Dumbledore taking delight in the way Ron expresses himself.

Thank you again.

I have been so busy lately that it has taken me forever to get around to this. And I have to say again that you astound me. Your style of writing is incredible, and your story is so real.

and a large stick of celery he was using instead of a fork, chewing the end off when he felt like it.

That was my favorite part. I laughed out loud, because that is just the sort of thing Dumbledore would do. *loves*

I'm glad you liked the bit with the celery, it was a mental image that popped into my head and I had to write it down ;).

Another story about a transformed Harry - very interesting. I like how you've captured his stubbornness, but still manage to keep him human throughout his transformation.

Snape is awesome. That's all I have to say about that.

Dumbledore's quoting of Ron (that the wall was "bloody hard") had me chuckling.

One minor point that I don't think was commented upon by anyone so far: you can't apparate inside Hogwarts (I assume that's where they are). So Dobby disappearing is...well, whatever, I just thought I would bring it to your attention. I'll stop sounding like Hermione now, I promise. ;)
Beren: corrupted harry[info]beren_writes on 8th August 2004 23:53 (UTC)
Thank you, so pleased you liked it.

One minor point that I don't think was commented upon by anyone so far: you can't apparate inside Hogwarts
I was assuming that house elves don't apparate. My theory on it is that they tend to work outside the human magical laws. My evidence: Dobby managed to appear and disappear inside the Durleys without setting off any alarms, and there was no loud apparating pop; they manage to run Hogwarts without being seen. I assumed they had their own way of getting around which involves popping in and out, but is not apparating.

Did that make any sense?
ביצ'ז לא מכירים אותי: hansel[info]danbi on 9th August 2004 00:20 (UTC)
I see your point but I didn't really read it that way in the books. I'll have to go re-read, but it just seems that house elves would not be able to appear and disappear inside the castle. Cause not all house elves are good.

Might just be me, though.
Beren: corrupted harry[info]beren_writes on 9th August 2004 00:23 (UTC)
I was thinking that it would be the ones who are on staff rather than all house elves, as it were. I think there is probably a very good reason that house elves are normally bonded to their employers/place of work. I suspect it has all sorts of ramifications, especially with a place like Hogwarts.

OOh, I wonder what Ron and Hermione are going to say when they find out! This fic has totally blown my mind. I'm serious, like I feel unworthy to comment on this story because nothing I could ever say would be good enough to describe it. Aaaargh! Where's the rest? Poor unhappy Harry isn't cured. You devil!
(Anonymous) on 2nd September 2006 20:26 (UTC)
Re: Completed?
I kinda hope he's never cured. What's so facinating is Harry's struggle to understand and accept what he now is. I would find it kinda tragic for him to make such progress and then to be stripped into a purely human form he has grown out of. Plus... if he's cured the story would be over, and I'm thoroughly addicted to this one! lol

Five stars!!!
This story is unbelieveable. It's well written and the plot is strong, supporting the sexual aspect of this story. This is probably one of the most powerful idenity confilcts I have ever read about and it is done with supurb grace. As a writer myself, I have found much to envy. I especially like how the battle between Harry's concience and his physical attributes is a constant delima and is never brushed aside easily. Very well done and an awsome read. I sincierly hope that there will be more to this story. I am a huge fan now!

when i started reading this story i was a little dissapointed. kind of like a "Harry has all those dark creatures inside him and all he can do is turn into a wolf and go on a killing spree?" sort of thing. but now i am SO HOOKED! he can use all the creature powers individually?! thats so awesome!
i also just want to say that i LOVE the way Harry calls draco 'his human'! its soooooooo cute!

Draco was making me nervous when he wasn't saying anything when Harry kept saying that he was his.

I was waiting for flat out rejection.
